WXIN is an Indianapolis based TV station with strong ties to its community. The sales team was looking for a new way to engage its long-time sponsors. They needed something exciting to entice their advertisers to spend more on something new! The WXIN team turned to SocialNewsDesk to create a ‘Fan of the Day’ social media sponsorship package which would become a recurring revenue stream for the station.
What’s in it for the Sponsor?
The SocialNewsDesk Simple Entry Contest Facebook App presented an ideal way for WXIN to create an interactive social experience for viewers while also giving sponsors a new way to connect with potential customers. Getting Set Up
It took only a few minutes to launch the contest app to WXIN’s Fan Page. Viewers who visited the WXIN Fan Page on Facebook were required to ‘Like’ the WXIN Fan Page and then enter a name and email address in order to be considered in the drawing for WXIN’s ‘Fan of the Day.’ This data was collected into a spreadsheet for download.
WXIN has more than 150,000 Likes on its main Fan Page and works hard to continue to grow. Because of its impressive reach, WXIN has been able to consistently garner $6,000/month for the ‘Fan of the Day’ Sponsorship Package.
